Start of studies 2023/24: Big welcome for WiSo first-year students on October 16, 2023
New life, new friends, new city: On Monday the lecture period is starting and FAU WiSo wishes all students a good start to the winter semester 2023/24! To ensure that first-year students quickly feel at home at FAU WiSo, there are not only a variety of introductory events, but also a very official welcome on October 16, 2023. On this day, the School’s head and the Lord Mayor of the city of Nuremberg, Marcus König, will welcome the first-semester students. The welcome is held in German as well as in English for the Bachelor’s and Master’s students.
After the welcome, students have the possibility to visit WiSo’s info exhibition, where more than 30 facilities, institutions, initiatives and corporate partners of the WiSo introduce themselves. Many WiSo services and institutions, such as the International Office and the University Library as well as the student organizations present themselves there.
In the afternoon, the inner courtyard of WiSo Nuremberg will be the venue for our get-together, including pretzels and drinks. Additionally, the mentoring program offers the “WiSo Meet & Explore” as an opportunity to get to know WiSo, the city of Nuremberg, and fellow students. On this day the popular WiSo first semester bags will also be handed out. In the evening, the party for the start of the winter semester 2023/24 will also take place in downtown Nuremberg.
