WiSo developed the WiSoVirtuell concept in response to the Corona crisis. For the summer semester 2021, WiSoVirtuell will now become WiSoVirtuellplus. This provides for WiSo to guarantee studies during this difficult time, even if this means leaving familiar paths. Since an end of the pandemic is not yet foreseeable, WiSo is taking steps to organize the events.

On 4 March 2021 from 5pm to 11pm, the University Library would like to invite you to the Long Night of Writing, which is being held entirely online this year. Entry is free of charge and you don’t need to register to participate. The programme includes tips for motivation, feedback on topics and texts, time management, yoga at your desk, and much more.

All master's degree programs at WiSo Nuremberg as well as the continuing education programs will present themselves compactly on March 25, 2021 via Zoom and explain the admission and application process. A new call for applications for the young researchers’ programme Emerging Talents Initiative (ETI) has just started – the deadline is 3d March 2021. Once again, excellent young researchers can apply for a one-year grant of up to €15,000. Within this framework, they can flexibly apply for all measures needed to prepare an external funding application.

Energy market researchers at FAU, the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, Switzerland, have been investigating which methods are most effective for reducing the carbon dioxide emissions created when generating electricity.

All students at FAU must re-register for the coming summer semester from 1 – 8 February 2021 and pay their semester fee. The semester fee of 127 euros consists of the Student Services fee and the contribution for the semester ticket. There is a bank transfer form for this purpose on mein campus under ‘Studienkanzlei aktuell’.

You can find updated information about on-campus examinations on all FAU channels. If you have any question or problems, please contact your lecturers. The Examinations Office’s website is regularly updated with all important information on the impact of the pandemic on examinations at FAU.

From 25 January, you can order and collect any books you urgently need from the University Library. This service will be available at the main University Library, the Science and Technology Branch Library and the Education Sciences Branch Library.
