FAU expresses its solidarity with Ukraine and its universities. Many of our students, employees and academic partners come from Ukraine and we are extremely concerned about the developments in the country. FAU and WiSo therefore hope for a quick and peaceful resolution to the conflict and supports the statement issued by the German Rectors’ Conference.
FAU is one of the first universities in Germany to sign the ‘San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment’ (DORA), which promotes fair, transparent and quality-based criteria in assessing academic research.
If a bachelor's degree has already been attained, a master's program at FAU's WiSo is the perfect choice to further expand one's expertise. The WiSo master's programs deepen the scientific content that students have already dealt with in their bachelor's studies. Information events on the master's degree programs are now being held again at the beginning of 2022.
2021 is drawing to a close. It has been a challenging year. Therefore, as we start the Christmas days and the New Year, a heartfelt thank you to all students, staff and faculty for their tireless efforts during this year. A Merry Christmas to you all and a good and, above all, healthy start to 2022.
FAU had only just decided to introduce the 2G rule for teaching when the politicians decided to introduce new rules. For example, as of this week all staff at Bavarian universities have to comply with the 3G plus rule, in other words, anyone who works on campus has to either meet the 2G criteria or be able to show a valid, negative PCR test result twice a week.
In view of the current worrying conditions in intensive care units - especially at the University Hospital Erlangen - the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) has decided to introduce the 2G rule for its face-to-face teaching. Non-2G students can continue to study properly through online offerings.
The aim of EELISA, the European Engineering Learning Innovation & Science Alliance, is to train a new generation of students across various countries to use intelligent technologies and sustainable solutions to tackle the current global challenges. FAU is one of the universities involved in the project.
