Again this year, the women’s promotion office is organizing various workshops on career-related topics for the female academic staff at the School of Business and Economics. Last week FAU’s University Council and President Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger discussed who to appoint to the vacant position of Chancellor and came to the unanimous decision to appoint Christian Zens. In other developments, Prof. Dr. Kathrin M. Möslein will join FAU’s Executive Board immediately as the new Vice President for Research.

Digitalisation, climate change, ageing populations – these are some of the challenges facing us now and in the future. Researchers at FAU and Fachhochschule Lübeck are working together on a way to develop custom-fit prosthetics with the help of 3D scanning and printing.

Young engineers at FAU give the University top marks and gladly recommend it to other students. This is the result of the Engineering Edition of the Graduate Barometer published each year by the market research company Trendence. In fact, student satisfaction at the University has increased compared to last year.

In order to study at FAU, refugees are required to learn German. The Association for Promoting Internationalisation at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg is supporting 24 refugees taking part in German language courses with a donation of 7200 euros.
