The School of Business, Economics and Society, founded from the former Nuremberg Commercial College, has a long tradition of conducting excellent research that addresses challenges facing the economy, business and society. Two of the characteristic features of its varied research profile are the combination of perspectives and approaches from business, economics and the social sciences, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The School’s strengths include its empirical focus in the majority of research projects, its emphasis on interdisciplinary research and its collaboration with strong partners from industry.
There are currently 55 professors and around 250 young researchers working at the School of Business, Economics and Society. The School’s outstanding contribution to research is demonstrated by the many studies that are presented at international conferences and published in renowned journals.
The School’s success is also reflected by excellent results in research rankings. In the Handelsblatt Ranking the School of Business, Economics and Society is rated as one of the top 20 faculties in Germany for both disciplines.
