Julian Müller holds the professorship for Digital Industries at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, which is funded by Bosch Rexroth AG and Stifterverband. Prof. Müller’s research covers digital transformation in industry (Industry 4.0), including the following perspectives.
- Operations and Supply Chain Management: Digital technologies in production and logistics, digitalization of entire value creation networks and industrial ecosystems
- Sustainability and Circular Economy: Integration of ecological and social requirements into digtal transformation of industrial value creation, regenerative industrial value creation
- Technology and Innovation Management: Industry-sector and company size-specific integration of digital technologies such as AI or digital platforms and business models
Before, he studied mechanical engineering and industrial engineering and management at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. After completing his PhD at the Chair of Industrial Management (Prof. Dr. Kai-Ingo Voigt), he was a professor at the Salzburg and Kufstein Universities of Applied Sciences during his habilitation. He was then professor for Supply Chain Management at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt and Professor for Digital Business at the Private University Schloss Seeburg.
Prof. Müller is among the Top 100 “management researchers under 40” in the DACH region in the Wirtschaftswoche ranking and a member of the Board of the European Operations Management Association.
